Four-Day Tsavo Saltlick Safari covers Tsavo East and West and the salt lick. This package suits all age groups and is doable throughout all seasons.
Tsavo Saltlick Safari accommodation is carefully selected from medium, Luxury, tented camps, and high-end lodges. The two parks, Tsavo East and West, are the largest in Kenya. They host large populations of Elephants, buffalo, and other big animals.
Example of the remarkable scenery
Tsavo East includes the Mudanda Rock and the Yatta Plateau, the world’s most significant lava flow. Lugards Falls on the Galana River are notable for the shaped water-worn rocks.
Tsavo West National Park is known as the land of Mzima, Lava, and rugged wilderness. The magnificent Mzima Springs are a glimpse of the fifty million gallons of crystal-clear water erupting from the parched Lava rocks.
The sanctuary has a record of three hundred species of birds.
You get a golden chance to see many animals as they approach the water hole to quench their thirst. The underground tunnel and bunker with ground-level windows provide an excellent view, while the lobby offers superb photographic moments. During your night game drive (at an extra cost), encounter nocturnal animals like spotted and striped hyenas, jackals, mongooses, civets, and several others.
Walking safari and wildlife talks

Meet and greet, followed by safari briefing, proceed to Tsavo East National Park. Tsavo means ‘Place of Slaughter’ in the local dialect. Indeed, this park is ideal for photographers with its fabulous light and fantastic views. These include: the Mudanda Rock and the Yatta Plateau, the world’s most significant lava flow. Lugard Falls on the Galana River are remarkable for the shaped water-worn rocks. Besides the big 5, waterbuck, kudu, gerenuk, and zebra are found here. Aruba hunter’s hartebeest, with its lyre-shaped horns, is found here. Lunch at Ashnil Aruba Lodge. Afternoon game drive, dinner, and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, proceed to Tsavo West National Park. The park is famous for Mzima Springs, with its unique underwater hippo observatory. Both Tsavos are famous for the largest population of red-skinned elephants. In addition to other small animals, the “Big 5” African animals are well represented. Kenyan birds, giraffes, zebras, and plains game can be found here.
Above all, from Lake Jipe to the mountain forests of the Chyulu Hills, the wide range of landscapes protects many endangered African wildlife. These includes; the Cosen’s gerbil, Hunter’s hartebeest, several species of shrew and rat, and wild dogs. Game en route to the lodge for check-in and lunch. Finally, afternoon game drive, dinner, and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, leave with a game drive en route to the Salt Lick. The lodge is ‘Famed for being among the most photographed lodges”. The lodge overlooks a water hole. Well designed for lofty game viewing from its thatched roof rondavels and walkways. Arrive in time for lunch; an afternoon game drive will follow. Animals seen here include the big 5, giraffes, elephants, and many more—dinner and overnight at the lodge.
In conclusion, have an early morning game drive back to the lodge for breakfast and leave for Mombasa. On arrival, drop off at your hotel.
